Oriental Brown

The close-up view of each stone type shows a relatively true image of the crystalline structure and the colouring. This is suitable for grained slabs to a limited extend only. In regard to the colour matching, please take an original sample of the stone from your furniture store as a basis.

Petrography

Limestone was generated when lime precipitated from water and sank to the seabed. The main part was composed of myriads of unicellular lime shell microorganisms and other remains of fossils. The pure white veins consist of pure crystalline calcium carbonate (calcite).

Petrogenesis

Like most limestones, also that one was formed out of layers of lime sludge.
The base was therefore fossil seabed with all remains of the creatures that lived
on it. Under the pressure of upper layers, the sediments solidified. Later tectonic movements in the earth’s crust led to fractures, that were refilled with calcium and, nowadays, do not have any influence on the stability.
