Breccia Sarda

The close-up view of each stone type shows a relatively true image of the crystalline structure and the colouring. This is suitable for grained slabs to a limited extend only. In regard to the colour matching, please take an original sample of the stone from your furniture store as a basis.

Petrography

A dense limestone, consisting largely of fossil remains such as calcareous algae,  Fragments of limestone shells and a variety of single-celled microfossils.

Petrogenesis

Limestones of this type were formed in warm, shallow seas. The first loose lime deposits solidified and compacted over time under the pressure of the upper layers.
