Lasa Fantastico

The close-up view of each stone type shows a relatively true image of the crystalline structure and the colouring. This is suitable for grained slabs to a limited extend only. In regard to the colour matching, please take an original sample of the stone from your furniture store as a basis.

Petrography

Fine crystalline, homogeneous white marble with an average grain size of 0.5 to 1.5 mm. This marble variety shows a white basic shade with strongly contrasting black-grey clouds and veins. The individual calcite crystals have a strong reflection capability, so that a glittering effect is generated when illuminating it (e.g. Halogen light). Bianco Lasa Fantastico can only very rarely be quarried in larger blocks.

Petrogenesis

The marble massif of Lasa was generated by metamorphosis from pure limestone during the Mesozoic area. A zone of originally limestone was pressed deeper into the earth crust at the beginning of folding the Alps. There it was exposed to the influence of pressure and temperature. Most of the limestone was re-crystallised over many million years into very pure, white marble.
