Moulin Rouge
The close-up view of each stone type shows a relatively true image of the crystalline structure and the colouring. This is suitable for grained slabs to a limited extend only. In regard to the colour matching, please take an original sample of the stone from your furniture store as a basis.
Petrography
The rock consists mainly of minerals from the serpentine group, together with chlorite, a green, leafy mineral. Both form a “flowing arrangement” in the space between the red, iron oxide-rich nodules. Serpentinites often have a very complex composition.
Petrogenesis
Rocks of this type are formed under high pressures and temperatures as a result of the transformation of dark, olivine-rich volcanic rocks and plutonic rocks.
