Palisandro

The close-up view of each stone type shows a relatively true image of the crystalline structure and the colouring. This is suitable for grained slabs to a limited extend only. In regard to the colour matching, please take an original sample of the stone from your furniture store as a basis.

Petrography

Cream-white to light brown-white, fine crystal, sugar grain-like dolomite marble with occasional decent light brown to golden brown stria and stripes. These consist of enrichments of minute flakes of phlogopite (magnesium-containing, brown mica). If the phlogopite is evenly distributed on the rock, Palisandro takes on a light brownish colour. At a certain lighting angle, the mica shimmers like gold flitter and gives this rock a noble decor.

Petrogenesis

Dolomite marble has been generated by metamorphosis from magma-rich, clay-containing limestone. During the metamorphosis of the lime into dolomite marble, the clay forms, in combination with magnesium, brown shimmering mica minerals (phlogopite), which are differently concentrated in the rocks.
