Palomino Blue

The close-up view of each stone type shows a relatively true image of the crystalline structure and the colouring. This is suitable for grained slabs to a limited extend only. In regard to the colour matching, please take an original sample of the stone from your furniture store as a basis.

Petrography

The dense and almost pore-free volcanic rock is largely quartz-free and consists mainly of light-colored alkali feldspar, which is mechanically and chemically very resistant. The more or less sharply demarcated light to dark brown areas have the same composition, but contain small amounts of the strongly coloring iron oxide limonite.

Petrogenesis

Volcanic activity pumped trachytic lava to the surface in northeastern Brazil during the Tertiary. The rapid cooling and solidification caused the hard rock to have a very fine crystalline structure. Solutions containing iron oxide penetrated through the fine fissures that formed during solidification, which led to the characteristic ornamentation. Each record is therefore unique!
