Scatto White
The close-up view of each stone type shows a relatively true image of the crystalline structure and the colouring. This is suitable for grained slabs to a limited extend only. In regard to the colour matching, please take an original sample of the stone from your furniture store as a basis.
Petrography
The rock consists almost exclusively of calcium carbonate = calcite.Darker veins containing carbonaceous substances are decorative.
Petrogenesis
Marbles belong to the class of metamorphites. The original rock was limestone,sedimented on the seabed with the help of calcifying organisms sedimentation.
During later mountain folding, high pressures and high temperatures acted, whichled to the crystalline marble that is now present.
