Winterwood

The close-up view of each stone type shows a relatively true image of the crystalline structure and the colouring. This is suitable for grained slabs to a limited extend only. In regard to the colour matching, please take an original sample of the stone from your furniture store as a basis.

Petrography

The base compound of light feldspars and transparent quartz is interspersed with fine-scaled mica, which in part is chloritized. The stringently oriented crystalline structure consists of contrasting, parallelly running light stripes and lenses of feldspar and quartz.

Petrogenesis

Such types of rocks were generated by sandy-clayey sediments on the sea bed.
As a result of the collision of the earth´s crustal plates, a high mountain range folded up more than 570 millions of yeras ago. That gneiss was originated by the then prevailing high pressures and temperatures which lead to material and structural transformation (metamorphosis).
