Danseuse

design peter draenert 1996

The DANSEUSE- the dancer – is based on the “Triadic Ballet” by Oskar Schlemmer. Schlemmer, one of the most significant Bauhaus-artists, was a painter, sculptor and set designer. He focused on the relation between  humans and  space. The human figure, hereby is increasingly reduced to geometric basic forms. Inspired by Oskar Schlemmer´s work, Peter Draenert masterly created the DANSEUSE in 1996 as a decorative room sculpture in his own ironic manner. The table with its dynamic curved legs is turned from wood and lacquered using a special technique.

This elaborately  manufactured unique piece of art furniture is limited to 100 pieces.
